Now I get it.
A blog for people whose English needs a little work
July 20, 2025 – My summer break begins this week. Now I’ll have more time to work on the website and make videos. Learn about the word “past” on this page.
July 19, 2025 – Here’s a new page for the preposition “into”. I’m still adding a lot of new material to the website, although that’s not evident from the number of posts on my blog. The most recent lesson is for the word “like.”
May 30, 2025 – People do a lot of shopping during the summer. This is because they have more time to shop, and there are more options available to them to find things on sale. I made this video for students who need to know different ways to ask about costs and prices.
May 19, 2025 – In this new video, I explain why and how to use “whom” in an adjective clause. The class that I teach in the evening has been studying various adjective clauses, so thought this would be a good time to make a video on the topic. I must admit to now using “whom” very often because it’s not a popular choice as pronoun, but students of English should know a few things about it nonetheless.
I removed the chat room. No one was really using it, so I took it off. The problem is that this website doesn’t receive enough traffic to make a chat room interesting. I’ll try again when more people discover the site.
April 15, 2025 – Today is tax day in the United States. That means that taxpayers have until today to file their taxes without penalty for being late. The deadline is at midnight.
Here’s a link to a new webpage that I made for the word “believe.”
February 18, 2025 – I’ve maintained a blog on and off over the last twenty years. Doing this kind of thing is a good way to connect with my students on a regular basis and let them know what I am currently working on. The blog is yet another new project, so as with other, similar projects, this will likely evolve over time. Thanks for reading.
