Conjunctions

What is a conjunction?

A conjunction is a word that joins together other words, phrases, and clauses. Conjunctions help to hold ideas together.

There are two main categories for conjunctions: coordinating and subordinating conjunctions. Coordinating conjunctions are words such as and, but, or, and so. Subordinating conjunctions are words such as before, after, when, it, because, and many others.
