How do you help the greatest number of people in one classroom all at once? That is the question I have grappled with since I began teaching back in 1988. Teaching to one group of students, and within each group, therein lies incredible diversity in ages, experience, ability, and economic power, is a great challenge.

March 18, 2023

The Lessons page now has links to eight sections of the website. In each section I”ll create lessons for the eight parts of speech.

I’m also adding video to the EnglishforthePlanet YouTube channel. These are just short, simple videos.

March 17, 2023

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Every year on March 17, 2023, we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. It’s an opportunity for people to celebrate their Irish heritage and Irish culture. You will see a lot of people in the United States wearing green on this day. It’s also popular to attend parade and go to Irish pubs.

I’m not Irish.  My ancestry is German and Swedish. However, I will still honor St. Patrick’s Day by raising a pint of stout to my Gaelic brethren.

March 12, 2023

Today I added a new page for verbs. I will add new pages for all of the other eight parts of speech: nouns, adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, pronouns, and interjections.
